I. GENERAL INFORMATION
1. Which Office and staff caters to International Student concerns?
Registrar office is in Charge with Admission Concerns; International Affairs and Services (IAS) under the Student Development and Welfare office handles non-academic concerns like orientation programs, international student activities, and more. All Academic concerns are directed to the Academic Deans and program chair in charge.
2. Who should be contacted for visa services, admission information, and advising?
You may visit the Registrar’s Office or email through intl.registrar@uc-bcf.edu.ph
3. Is there tuition fee difference between Filipino and International students?
None.
II. VISA AND OTHER LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDY
1. What visas are required for study in UC?
Student Visa, Special Study Permit, Missionary Visa, Diplomatic Visa, Refugee Visa, Working Visa, Dual Citizen, SRRV (Special Retirees Resident Visa), SIRV (Special Investors Resident Visa)
2. When to convert Tourist Visa to Student Visa?
Immediately after enrollment.
3. What is an Annual Report and why is it required for all international students?
Section 10 of RA 562 (Alien Registration Act of 1950) and the existing regulations, all registered aliens are required to report in person to the Bureau of Immigration within the first 60 days of every calendar year.
4. How long is the validity of the Student Visa?
Should be renewed every school year, the Visa is valid until upon completion of the program enrolled.
5. Can I enroll in UC if my visa (which is neither 9f nor Special Study Permit) is still being processed?
Yes. Conversion to student visa is processed 15 days (about 2 weeks) after enrollment.
III. ACADEMIC CONCERNS
1. Who should be consulted regarding academic status or enrollment problems?
Students are advised to seek their respective Academic Dean or Program Chair.
2. When does an international student become ineligible to enroll?
- Violation of Executive Order 285 s. 2000 (Guidelines Governing the Entry and Stay of Foreign students in the Philippines) - refer to BID website; Non-performance in academics (8 failed marks); non-compliance with visa requirements and re-admission policy of UC.
3. Do I need take English proficiency exam, where should I go?
All international students are required to take the English Proficiency exam administered by the Guidance and Counseling office.
4. Do I need to enroll Language Enhancement Program?
This shall depend on the English proficiency exam result and evaluation of the Program chair in charge.
5. Do I need to enroll NSTP Courses?
International Students are exempted to take this course.
IV. SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES, STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS, AND UNIVERSITY DRESS CODE
1. Where should Christian students go for prayer meeting on campus?
There are student organizations in UC that you can join where prayer meetings are part of their activities.
2. What are the benefits of joining student organizations on campus?
Beyond socialization, students could be part of an organization (identification), activities, future references, personal growth, trainings,
3. Are international students covered by the University dress code?
No for reasons that include religious cultures.
V. AUTHENTICATION OF UNIVERSITY RECORDS
(Visa services, information and advising)
1. What Office authenticates Diploma, Transcript, and other school records?
Apostille or CAV (Certification, Authentication and Verification) of school documents is processed in the Registrar’s Office. Bring along clear photocopy of diploma and Official Transcript of Records; for Nursing – additional RLE certification). The Registrar’s Office endorses to CHED Regional Office and forwards to DFA for authentication. Document is claimed by the owner of the record or authorized representative at DFA, Manila.
2. How long does it take to process school documents?
After submission of application of school record, document is issued:
1) Certification – 3 business working days
2) True copy of grades - 3 business working days
3) Official Transcript of Records – 7 business days
4) Diploma – within 15 working days
